Inkspell by Cornelia Funke

Well, Cornelia Funke did it again! I was constantly anxious to get back into my car so I could hear more of this fascinating tale. My ride to work was never long enough, and I was always disappointed when I drove with other people, since I knew they would want to talk instead of listening to part of my audiobook! The best part, in my opinion, is that this audiobook sounded more like a full cast recording. It was narrated by only one man, Brendan Fraser, but he was so good at the many different voices that I sometimes forgot it was a single person reading all the parts. If you have never listened to an audiobook, I think this would be a great one to start on!

Let’s move on to the acual story, though. In this sequel to Inkheart, Meggie and her parents have moved in with Aunt Elinor, along with and the many fairy tale creatures that came from the Shadow. Dustfinger and Farid find a man, Orpheus, who claims he can read Dustfinger back into his story — and he does! The problem is, though, that Basta and the Magpie are out to kill every one of them… Will they find Meggie and her family before Farid can warn them? Will they also find a way back into Inkheart so they can go after Dustfinger, too? And what ever happened to Fenoglio? (He was the author of Inkheart who disappeared on the night of Capricorn’s death.) Read — or listen! — to learn all about the magic and the mayhem for yourself!

Happy Reading!
