Manga Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet adapted by Richard Appignanesi

This adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is probably fairly well received by fans of manga.  However, I find this presentation to be too confusing.  I am much less of a visual reader, and I am easily confused by the reverse-order of manga, though, so it may have had absolutely nothing to do with the translation into the manga format.  Still, I think the juxtaposition of Shakespearean English and manga illustrations will either help manga fans to “get” Shakespeare or prove, once and for all, that some people (e.g. me) need to work a lot harder to “get” manga.

Happy Reading!
