Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

This is one of those books that I just had to read as soon as I read the title… And, it turns out that I was not at all let down. Sure, there are things about mummies, but there’s a whole lot more. While some people may find a lot of the facts to be “disgusting,” I thought it was very interesting. I recommend reading up on the uses of “beating-heart” cadavers for organ transplants, since it is so awesome to see how many lives can be saved by a single donor. the Best of all, Mary Roach is able to work a string of macabre humor through the entire book. Not my typical read, but definitely worth the time.

Happy reading!
