Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink

Twin sisters Lia and Alice have always been very different. Lia has always been more of a sensitive and caring girl, and Alice has always been more cold. Now that they are orphans, though, they are finally learning about a major reason for their differences — they are the most recent generation of twins who have been born into an ancient prophecy pitting twin sisters against one another. One of them is the Guardian, and the other is the Gate. The Gate is supposed to help Samael and his Souls’ Army out of the Otherworlds and into our own, but he Guardian is supposed to maintain peace in the physical world by keeping Samael out. Things are not always as they seem, though… Is the Guardian always the “good” sister and the Gate always “bad” sister? Furthermore, is there anyone either of them can fully trust to help them find their places in the prophecy? Full of mystery, suspense, and folklore, this first installment has me anxiously awaiting the second book of the trilogy — Guardian of the Gate — which is slated for an August 1st release!

Happy Reading!
