The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

The Eternal OnesWith all of the excitement surrounding the release of the Breaking Dawn [part 1] movie, I thought it might be a good idea to highlight another supernatural romance.  I am not going to try and say that it’s exactly like the Twilight series, but people who enjoyed that series will probably also enjoy The Eternal Ones.

Haven Moore is a tough-as-nails southern girl who has always wanted to leave Tennessee for New York City.  As a young child, she already knew a lot about New York City.  Too much, in fact, for a child who had never been there.  She also talked a lot about a man named Ethan and how he would be waiting for her there.  Haven’s father thought it seemed a bit too odd to be explained away as simple childhood imagination, so he looked into other theories.  His search brought him to the Ouroboros Society — a group dedicated to the study of reincarnation which helps people whom they believe to have been reincarnated.  Sadly, Haven was left in the dark about her probable reincarnation because her father died and left her in the care of her extremely religious grandmother, Imogene.  Every time Haven blacked out and had a vision, she was treated as if possessed by the devil himself.  Predictable at times, but with crazy plot twists at others, this book is definitely not just another supernatural romance; it’s a story that will make you think twice the next time you experience déjà vu or hear about someone falling in love at first sight.

Happy Teen Read Week!
