Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

Annabel Greene has always seemed like the girl with everything — even in her starring role for a local department store’s commercial. She was pretty, she was popular, she was smart, and she had a great/close family. What more could she want, right? When something terrible happens at an end-of-the-school-year party, though, everything changes. She is suddenly friendless, and she is dreading the start of the new school year — which just so happens to coincide with the airing of that new commercial.  In addition to her own troubles, nevertheless, her “perfect” family is falling apart, too.

It seems like the world is coming to an end, but life manages to go on for everyone else. Will she just have to keep herself shut off from the rest of the world until the school year ends? Will she end up breaking down completely?  Or will she be able to find someone, anyone, who can just listen?

Happy Reading!

  1. This is one of my favourite books ever. I own all Sarah Dessen’s books, this one is her best I believe. If you liked this book read This Lullaby and Lock and Key by her as well. I love the way she intertwines her stories, telling how nothing is what it seems. [=
